Man held, opium worth Rs 3 lakh seized in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: A 32-year-old man was arrested by KP Agrahara police on charges of drug peddling and 750gm of opium was seized from him. The accused has been identified as Beraram, a resident of Pantharapalya.

Police sources said that they received information about a person trying to sell drugs near an apartment building in Telecom Layout.A police team rushed to the spot and arrested the person.Beraram’s house was searched later and 750gm of opium worth `3 lakh was seized.

“When questioned, he revealed that he used to get opium from his contacts in Rajasthan and he brought it to the city by train,” police added.
