Boy’s body severed, father thrown off flyover as car hits bike

A biker and his 12-year-old son were killed on the spot after a speeding car crashed into their bike on Old Madras Road at the Avalahalli flyover near KR Puram on Monday.

BENGALURU: A biker and his 12-year-old son were killed on the spot after a speeding car crashed into their bike on Old Madras Road at the Avalahalli flyover near KR Puram on Monday. The car driver ran away from the scene and according to police, he was overspeeding and this led to the accident.
The boy’s body was cut into two pieces while the biker fell down from around 20 feet height from the flyover due to the force of the impact.  Avalahalli police are now on the look out for the driver.
The deceased have been identified as Bramhananda Reddy, (42), a truck owner who runs a  travel business, and his son Moun Sai Reddy, a student of Class 6 in a private school in KR Puram. The family are residents of Medahalli.

A senior police officer said that the incident occurred at 10.45am when Reddy was going towards Hosakote to take his son to an eye hospital. He was riding on the flyover when the speeding Honda Civic crashed into his two-wheeler.

Moun’s body was stuck between the parapet wall of the flyover and the bike while Reddy was thrown in the air and fell down from the flyover. His body was found in an open drainage under the flyover.
Other vehicle drivers stopped to help the victims and were shocked to notice the boy’s body and alerted the traffic police. Then Avalahalli police rushed there and cleared the traffic.

Anil Kumar, brother-in-law of Reddy, said, “The duo left home at 10am and we heard about the accident around 11.30am. I immediately rushed there and the bodies were shifted to a private hospital. Moun had an eyesight issue and had bought spectacles a year ago. The doctor had asked him to exchange it and thus they were going to buy a new one.”
