A police official told The New Indian Express that the incident took place in September when four men allegedly barged into the house of Ranjitha, the complainant, while she was having dinner with her friend.
The group of robbers had threatened them with a knife and had robbed Ranjitha’s gold chain and cash worth Rs 30,000. A case was registered at Mico Layout police station in this connection.

“We verified the CCTV footage from the nearby houses and shops and also analysed mobile phone numbers active in the locality during the time of the offence. Later, based on some credible information, the accused were nabbed. During questioning, Ashwini admitted that she knew Ranjitha for the last couple of years and knew that she had money and gold jewels. As she was unemployed, she hatched a robbery plan and roped in her male friends to commit the offence to make easy money,” the police official added.
