

BENGALURU: Three prestigious engineering colleges in the city received bomb threat emails on Friday morning saying that hydrogen based improvised explosive devices are planted on their premises.
After a thorough check by the police, the bomb detection squad and anti-sabotage teams declared the threat a hoax as no explosives were found in the college premises. The email was sent to the official email IDs of the respective institution's principals at 7.19 am. The threat email was sent to Bangalore Institute of Technology (BIT) in VV Puram, BMS College of Engineering (BMSCE) in Basavanagudi and Ramaiah College. The VV Puram, Hanumanthanagar and Sadashivanagar police have registered a case in this regard
"Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) and Anti Sabotage Check (ASC) teams checked the premises and found it to be a hoax threat email," said an officer
The threat email was sent from s_ve_sekar@hotmail.com to the principals of all these three engineering colleges. The college management informed the jurisdictional police.
Content of the mail: Hydrogen based improvised EDs have been placed in the listed colleges by Pak ISI cells from Kovai. Evacuate by 5 pm. Check under benches for glued devices and call BDSS.
