CHENNAI: As soon as you think about animation, probably the first thing that comes to your mind will be those movies like, Madagascar, Monsters vs Aliens, Kung Fu Panda and all those innumerable flicks which are known for their animation. However, there is more to animation than just movies.
It’s been quite some time that the fascination for animation has set in. In this recession hit world economy, animation is seen as the silver line in the cloud. At this point CCX Animation Academy and Verve studio, a digital boutique studio, have come together to promote this new wave of reformation in the professional industry.
Talking at a press meet to announce the tie-up between CCX Academy and Verve, Ram V Mani, Chairman and Managing Director of the academy said, “Animation is not so funny business”. After the revolution of IT and BPO, animation is the next big thing in the industry.
“Animation is not all about cartoons”, he added. There is a vast ocean of opportunities that awaits you once you finish the course. Medical illustrations, interior designs, plant designs, automobile modelling and so on are the other sought out areas for animation. According to Mani, the most attractive among all these fields is the field of medical and dental applications.
Through animated works, doctors can assure the patients about the procedures that are going for a treatment and even pharmaceuticals can exhibit the performance of the new drugs available. It’s also useful in Forensics and legal application.
India seems to be the next sought out destination for the animation industry. CCX has teamed up with Verve to offer industry specific animation course. “Age and sex is no bar for the course. Only aptitude and a willingness to learn is needed,” explained Mani.
CCX is offering basic animation course for six months. There are also courses for 4 to 12 weeks. They are also offering Modelling course, Animation course and Medical animation course for 3 months. Currently, they focus mainly on medical and dental animation applications.
