Godrej Interio, a leading manufacturer of home and office furniture, has forayed into Chennai with the launch of its first preview three-storeyed store in Vadapalani on Wednesday.
“It is a one-stop store where customers can access a range of home and office furniture,” the company stated.
Godrej Interio, a part of Godrej Group, is one of the leading furniture brands in both home and institutional segments.
It has 78 exclusive showrooms that are operated through 800 dealers across India.
“Though we have dealers in Chennai, it is an exclusive store for furniture products that we have launched,” said Subodh Mehta, vice-president, Godrej Interio.
Speaking to City Express, Subodh Mehta said, “For us, Chennai is one of the growing markets. It contributes 25 per cent to the company’s market share, despite huge competition in the organised furniture market. We are focusing on growth strategies by improving our distribution network here.”
He added, “In the next couple of months, we will open 50 more stores in South India, of which 15 will be launched in Tamil Nadu. Regions like Tiruchy, Madurai, Coimbatore and Salem among others will have Godrej Interio exclusive showrooms.”
Chennai Mayor Saidai S Duraisamy inaugurated the showroom.
