“Lord Sree Krishna is the Poorna Punyavatharam (total and perfect incarnation) of Lord Mahavishnu (Aadi Narayanan),” Bhagavatha scholar Perumbally Kesavan Nampoothiry said in his discourse on Krishnavatharam (incarnation of Lord Krishna) on the fifth day on Wednesday of the Srimad Bhagavatha Navaha Sathram at the Mahalingapuram Ayyappan-Guruvayurappan temple here.
“Lord Mahavishnu has taken innumerable incarnations for preserving and perpetuating Sathyam and Dharmam. Most of these incarnations fall in the category of Amsavatharam, Amsamsavatharam and Kalavatharam. But the incarnation as Sree Krishna is Poornam (total and perfect),” he said while extolling the divine grace of the lord.
“The 90-chapter Dasama Skandham (Canto X) of Srimad Bhagavatham is devoted to delineate the incarnation of Sree Krishna. Sree Sukabrahmarishi describes the life and karma of Sree Krishna following a request from Pareekshit, who had the great fortune of being protected by lord Krishna right from the womb of his mother Utharadevi. Sree Sukabrahmarishi makes the exposition as elaborate as possible because Pareekshit wants to listen to the deeds of greatness and virtues of his protector,” Perumbally Kesavan Nampoothiry said.
The discourse on Krishnavatharam was followed by a discourse on Bala Leelakal, Poothana Moksham, Ulookhala Bandhanam and Kaaliya Nardanam by Kesava Deekshithar.
Kandamangalam Parameswaran Namboodiri gave a discourse on Venu Geetham, Kaarthyayani Pooja, Govardhana Pooja and Govindabhishekam. This was followed by the discourse on Gopika Geetham and Raasakreeda by Kesava Deekshithar.
Discourses by Kallampally Jayan Namboodiri on Akrurasthuthy, Madhurapuri Yatra, Kamsavadham, Uddhava Dooth, Jarasandha Vadham, Dwarakapuri Yathra and Muchukunda Sthuthy will mark the beginning of the sixth day of the Navaha Sathram on Thursday morning.
This will be followed by the discourse by Sathram Acharyan Bhagavatha Kokilam Venmani Krishnan Namboodiripad on Rukmini Swayamvaram from 4 pm to 7 pm.
