An 11-day exhibition of silk and cotton sarees as well as handicrafts is set to be open to the public from July 4.
Rakesh Rai, the Chief Executive of Abhivridhi, an association assisting artisans and weavers, revealed that more than 100 stalls featuring creations of artisans all across India ‘from Kashmir to Kanyakumari’ will be open to the public. The event is being conducted under the banner of the Silk and Crafts, India.
Of the 100 stalls, 75 will be dedicated to selling silk and cotton sarees directly from the weavers to the public, ensuring a better price to the weavers for their handmade goods. The other stalls at the exhibition will sell handicrafts to the public.
The exhibition will be held in Valluvar Kottam in Nungambakkam.
