Associating events with a social cause is the latest trend in society, but there is no denial that it is an easy way to create awareness and reach people easily. The Duchess Club Car rally, which donned the theme of “Uncompromise on Girl Child,” was a huge success.
On Sunday morning, with colourful cars and dressed up ladies, everything was set for the annual women’s car rally, presented by Akshaya. Nearly 60 cars were registered for the one-day event and all were decorated based on the theme.
Actor Vivek and Chitty Babu, CCEO of Akshaya Homes, were present to flag off the rally. In a special category, 10 visually challenged women were given the opportunity to take part in the rally as navigators. A braille map was provided to them with clues to direct the driver.
Actor Vivek expressed his happiness to be part of the event.
“Driving is not an easy task. These events reflect the nature of women. They are very bold, confident and strong enough to dare to take up any challenge,” he said.
The winners were awarded trophies and gifts at Akshaya Metropolis, where the event concluded, after a drive of 80-90 kilometres around the city.
