Minister for Social Welfare and Nutritious Noon Meal Programme, Valarmathi distributed goods to a group of differently-abled on Monday. The goods included sewing machines, wheelchairs, magnifiers, behind-the-ear hearing aids, leg braces and spirometers amounted to Rs 6.55 lakh.
The distribution which happened at Andhra Mahila Sabha, Adyar, also had the presence of P Sivasankaran, Secretary, and V K Jayakodi, Commissioner and Principal Secretary of Department of Welfare of differently-abled. A Sundaravalli, Chennai District collector, also took part in the event.
