Two drill instructors electrocuted at OTA

Two drill instructors at the Officers Training Academy were electrocuted and as many injured at St Thomas Mount on Wednesday. Sources said drill instructors Tarshim Singh (31) and Manwar Singh (30) trained the army officers at the academy.

On Wednesday, the duo and two others were engaged in preparing the ground for the obstacle course scheduled to be held on Thursday. They were pushing an aluminium ladder along the ground, when it came into contact with an overhead high-tension wire.

Tarshim Singh and Manwar Singh suffered severe electric shock and died on the spot, while the other two men, whose identities are not known when last reports came in, suffered injuries and admitted in the nearby military hospital.
