In an unexpected twist to a murder case, a woman, Ganga Devi, who was suspected to have been killed, is alive.

Reading reports about her husband, a techie, identifying her body in Vellore district, she called her relatives over phone and informed that she would return soon.

Earlier, police sources claimed that the woman’s husband, residing at Thiruvanmiyur, believed that a body found in Vellore district was that of hers. On Saturday special teams were formed to investigate the alleged murder of 28-year-old Ganga Devi of Thirunindravur, whose decomposed body was believed to be found in a gunny bag in Vellore district on Friday. According to sources, police were on the lookout for one Karthik (23) of Thirunindravur, an alleged lover of Ganga, who had met near the Central railway station where they entered into a heated argument.
