True companionship lasts forever on mental plane

Those who are bound together by the bond of true love and friendship on the physical plane are presented with the full opportunity to manifest their mutual affection on the mental plane.

The relationships between parent and child, brothers and sisters and friends, seldom is found to approach the ideal which dwells ever in the human heart. So true is this ideal, so constant is its presence that during earth-life, when we see a companionship which seems to even partially comply with the ideal, our deepest feelings are touched. This results in deep emotion and sympathy which lift us up to higher planes of thought and life. What then must be the joy and bliss of life on this plane on which this expression is natural and where the ideal becomes the real. Those who are bound together by the bond of true love and friendship on the physical plane are presented with the full opportunity to manifest their mutual affection on the mental plane.

The highest that human imagination can picture as possible in such a companionship pales in comparison to the actual reality of the experience. It is futile to attempt to paint a picture of these scenes and relationships, for there are no words that can express the truth. The answer to the inquiry requires each soul to turn its mental gaze inward, and find the picture painted in its imagination of the highest possible bliss. It is only in the harmony of music, or the rhythmic cadences of the best poetry, or the lines of some great work of art, that the earth-dwelling soul may catch a glimpse of the truth of   love on the mental plane. These things at times cause faint hints of what the soul actually experiences on those higher planes of being.

This is one of the reasons why music, art, and poetry are able at times to lift us above the material environment in which we are dwelling. In the flashes of Cosmic Conscience which occasionally come to souls of spiritual enlightenment, there is included a realisation of this feature of the association of souls on the mental plane.

The difficulty in explaining to somebody on the physical plane about the nature and character of the companionship that exists on the mental plane is that the earthly dweller insists upon thinking in terms of a place. But there is no place as such on the mental plane but merely conditions and states.

To dwell in the same place as the loved one on the mental plane, means simply to dwell in the same state or condition of being. This closeness surpasses the constraint created by space which is felt on the physical plane. Only an advanced soul can begin to comprehend this mystery of the mental plane. A question may arise related to the issue of souls enjoying this sort of companionship but dwelling on different sub-planes belonging to the astral or mental planes, but still being in the same state in which the experience is rendered possible.  The answer to this is simple to one who is familiar with certain occult truths. As explained previously, this is brought about as  the soul on the higher sub-plane feels the sympathetic attraction of the soul on the lower sub-plane and in answering this it establishes a psychic connection (akin to a highly exalted form of telepathy) between the two.

This renders possible the experience of the closest mental, spiritual relationship and companionship; the experience of which far transcends the companionship of two souls in the flesh.

There is no loneliness for souls who crave for sympathy on the mental plane.  There is nothing that is noble in earth-life that does not have its magnified correspondence on the mental plane. There is a natural law which operates on the mental, physical and astral planes. This law regulates and controls everything on the particular plane. The disembodied soul does not part with Nature when it leaves the earthly or astral life but rather it rises to a plane of Nature which is fuller, and richer in every way than the best of which the earth dwelling soul dreams of.  Since the baggage of materiality has been burned away by the astral vibrations, the soul blossoms and bears spiritual fruit in the new life on the mental plane.
