Rajah Sir Annamalai Chettiar Memorial Trust is giving an award worth Rs 2 lakh to vice-chancellor of Gandhigram Rural Institute, S M Ramaswamy for his outstanding contribution in the feild of Education, Arts, Literature, Science and Economics. This is being given on the occasion of the 109th birth-anniversary of Rajah Sir Muthiah Chettiar.

Ramaswamy is a renowned scientist in the field of Remote Sensing and Geo-informatics.
