Income tax officials conducted raids on the premises of Meenakshi group of institutions located in 17 places including Chennai, Kanchipuram and Puducherry.
The searches,conducted by 17 teams to verify the doubts over tax evasion by the group, began around 8 am and income tax sources said that it is likely to continue till Wednesday morning. raids were also carried out in the newly launched newspaper office besides various institutions across the city including their office in K K Nagar.
