Two-day shooting camp at Veerapuram range

Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT) is organising a two-day shooting camp for beginners at its Veerapuram shooting range near Avadi from September 28.

Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT) is organising a two-day shooting camp for beginners at its Veerapuram shooting range near Avadi from September 28.

The camp would be held in the forenoon between 10 am and 1 pm. Necessary items like rifle, target papers and pellets would be provided to the participants.

The minimum age for getting enrolled in the camp is 12 and the admission is being done on a  first-come-first serve basis.

Veerapuram shooting range is located six kilometres away from Avadi at Tamil Nadu Special Police 3rd Battalion.

The range is maintained by SDAT along with the Police Department, Tamil Nadu.

The range has the facility for a 10-metre air-conditioned indoor range, 25 metre  and 50 metre outdoor ranges for air rifle shooting with electronic scoring, said K Rajaraman, member secretary, SDAT.

A nominal amount of `500 is the registration fee for each participant. Transport facility from Avadi will also be arranged.
