Handloom Expo Gets Underway

CHENNAI: An exhibition-cum-sale of Indian handloom products showcasing a good collection of materials and dress items, apart from handicrafts, is on in the city.

Organised by the All India Handloom and Handicrafts, the expo is being held at Kamadhenu Kalyana Mahal, Luz Church Road, Mylapore.

The exhibition features a rich collection of traditional items from different States such as Kashmiri tops, cotton and silk saris from Andhra Pradesh, bed covers and kurtis from Rajasthan, furniture from UP,  jute bags and purses  from Odisha, among others.

The other attractions include pendants, devotional magnets, prayer beads, papermache dolls, necklaces, anklets, bracelets, nose studs, rings, bangles, marble dolls, Tanjore paintings, black and white metal toys, khadi shirts, panchaloka idols, utensils, mouth freshners, pouches and car hangings. Discount up to 25 per cent is available on purchases. The exhibition is on till December 21.
