Starmark Opens Another Outlet

CHENNAI: For most of us, the love for books and reading might have bloomed in a bookstore near home. Whether it is delving into the pages of history, the world of fiction, inspiring autobiographies and biographies, the poetry of life, of authors romancing life’s grater themes such as love, death and other motifs, it all must have started from a bookstore.  Bookstores give you that space where in one can create a unique world of characters, coupled with one’s thoughts and ideas. Over the years, bookstores have been elevated into a much higher level with providing a completely new ambience, where you can sit back and read books. One such place has been Starmark. With a view to providing more space for reading, a new store was launched in the city at the Phoenix Market City recently. And what better people to inaugurate it, other than Bishwanath Ghosh, the author of Tamarind City and Gopalkrishna Gandhi, the author of My Dear Bapu? Both of them emphasised that such bookstores have been the place from where they developed the passion for reading books, which in turn inculcated in them the zeal for becoming writers.

While its first store at the Express Avenue has been functioning for over a year, it has become one of the city’s leisure and entertainment store chain, offering books, music, movie CDs, toys, stationery, gifts and other items.
