Seeding Gets Easy as Filling Up 1 Form Alone Enough

CHENNAI: Gas consumers who still haven’t registered for the Direct Benefit Transfer scheme for LPG (DBTL), to be rolled out from the new year, can heave a sigh of relief, as  oil companies have simplified the process by introducing a single consolidated form for both Aaadhar and Non Aadhaar consumers.

In addition, the form will also be available in Tamil. The new form also eliminates the previously mandated need to attach a copy of the Aadhaar card inside a blank space. A copy of the necessary documents will just need to be attached alongside the form. Those with Aadhaar numbers will have to submit two forms: give one to the distributor and the other to the bank or drop box provided at the agency.

Consumers without an Aadhaar number could fill the same form and submit it either to the agency or the bank.

However, if consumers choose to drop the bank copy of the forms in the drop-box, a confirmation would not be given, Indian Oil officials told reporters here on Wednesday.

The new form also has an option for those who want to opt out of subsidy. Previously, consumers wanting to exercise this option needed to download Form 5 from www.mylpg.in and submit it to the agency.

“Providing Tamil forms is a welcome move as it will benefit many in rural areas. The consolidated form will ease the problems of consumers and reduce the issue of paper consumption,” said T Sadagopan, a consumer activist.

In case of unavailability of the consolidated form, Forms 1-4 will also be available at the gas agencies.
