CHENNAI: To remember mathematical genius Srinivasa Ramanujam on his 127th birth anniversary, Anna University’s Mathematics Department conducted the 26th Ramanujam Endowment Lecture. One of the biggest contributors of his time, Ramanujam made progress in various fields like analytical theory, elliptic functions and continued fractions, and has been compared with the greats of the 20th century like Euler, Gauss and Jacobi. In a short lifespan of 32 years, his formidable amount of original work has greatly influenced the field of mathematics.
