CHENNAI: A 40-year-old man was arrested for abusing his eight-year-old step-daughter, here on Wednesday night.
Police said the accused, Allen Devados, an electric contractor and resident of Parasuramankoil street in Ayanavaram, got married to a 28-year-old widow with a daughter two years ago. He was caught sexually abusing his step-daughter by his wife in May this year. But, he had threatened to release the intimate pictures he had taken when they were together if she dared to reveal his act. He also forced her to leave the city.
As his torture continued, the woman lodged a complaint with Villivakkam All Women Police Station citing that he had sexually abused her daughter.
Based on the complaint, a case was registered under section 8 of The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 and provisions of IPC. During interrogation, Devados admitted to have sexually abused the child and was subsequently remanded to Judicial Custody.
The incident comes to light a day after a 45-year-old man was arrested in Tiruvannamalai district for raping his 14-year-old daughter, student of a school in Villivakkam.
