CHENNAI: Dev r Nil’s new spring and summer collection 2014 includes the age-old ikkat techniques, revolutionising the fashion of the past. The designs are inpired from emperor butterfly colours and embroidered doilies or mats. With this collection, Dev r Nil have developed their own lace which is both delicate and functional.
The collection is an ode to the vintage and brings out the power of 60s and 70s. It includes cropped top, jackets with printed skirts or palazzos, sarees with bolero jackets and classic cut jackets, and bandhgala waistcoats for men. The colours range from coral, burnt yellows and mints to black, slate and greys.
