Chaos Escalated by Re-opened Chetpet Roads

CHENNAI: Every day, we will be running from pillar to post to control the traffic during opening and closing time, said Vincent Paul, one among the 5 security guards deputed to control the traffic in front of Lady Andal School.

More than 5 guards were deputed by the school to control the traffic inside and outside the campus. In addition to that a traffic policeman is deputed during the peak hours. Sunaniya, a parent, said, “The ongoing road work has increased the traffic problem. We don’t have parking space so we are forced to drive around.” Vehicles are parked on pedestrian space leaving no space for the children to walk

“The corporation should speed up the road work and complete it as soon as possible, which will reduce the traffic problem at least to an extent,” said Manikkam, an auto driver, lamenting the existing conditions
