CHENNAI: S K R Engineering College, organised an awareness programme on ‘counselling guidance’ for plus 2 students at Sir Pitty Thyagaraya Hall, recently. Dr V Rhymend Uthariaraj,  secretary, Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions, Anna University was the chief guest and delivered a lecture which included the rules and regulations and how should one choose an engineering college during counselling.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr M Senthil Kumar, highlighted briefly about the college and how it was pioneering success, year by year both academically and placement wise. Uthariaraj on his special address suggested that the students should select a minimum of 10 colleges available for their cut-off marks and shortlist 5 colleges after personally visiting and analysing the infrastructure, faculties, laboratories and placement and select one among those 5 as per availability during counselling.

After selecting the branch in a college, students should get convinced that his / her college is the best and study well with utmost care to make their parents and college proud. B Prakash, manager, City Union Bank briefed about the procedure and norms for getting education loans. Students raised many doubts regarding counselling and education loan procedures. Around 400 students benefitted through this programme. K Ramadoss, chairman, presided over the function. K Vasu, secretary, S Suresh Babu, treasurer, Suganthi Ramadoss, director – students affairs, S Geetha, joint secretary, Dr M Divya Satish, director – academics were also present.
