CHENNAI: As many as 597 candidates were placed in government medical colleges in the State on Wednesday during the single-window general counselling at Kilpauk Medical College. Six medical colleges, including Madras Medical College, Stanley Medical College, Madurai Medical College, Thanjavur Medical College and Kilpauk Medical College have all the seats in the open category filled on the first day of general counselling. In the Madras Medical College, all except 14 seats in SC, SCA and ST categories were filled.
