CHENNAI: He might have cracked one of the most toughest examinations in the world with flying colours. But the 42nd rank holder in the IIT (Advanced) has a different story to tell when it comes to the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions. “My rank is 3,456 in the TNEA rankings,” says Ravi Teja, who points out that students from CBSE schools don’t stand a chance to get into top colleges if it is through the Tamil Nadu counselling process. “What chance do we have in the TNEA when there are over 200 students with a centum in all the three subjects in the state board? In CBSE, it is hardly possible to get that kind of marks. Most of my friends did not apply. When I did, this is what I got. It was just a complete waste of time,” he says.
