Man Escapes From Orissa Cops, Kills Self

The deceased has been identified as Adam Kumar Naik. The Odisha police were looking out for him in a case and arrested him from a hideout in Allepey, Kerala, on Saturday.

CHENNAI: A 27-year-old suspect, who was arrested by the Odisha police from Kerala and was being escorted by a police team, allegedly jumped in front of a train at Tambaram Railway Station on Friday. Railway police said that from circumstances it appears that the accused wanted to commit suicide.

The deceased has been identified as Adam Kumar Naik. The Odisha police were looking out for him in a case and arrested him from a hideout in Allepey, Kerala, on Saturday.

“They came to Tambaram on the way to Odisha and were waiting to board the Howrah Express. Though the accused was handcuffed, he managed to run away from the policemen and threw himself before a EMU that was entering the track,” said a railway police officer.

Odisha police, including inspector Sanjay kanta who was leading the team, informed the Tambaram Railway Police. Railway Police officials have secured the body and are investigating.
