CHENNAI: When he passed away in October last year, the chapter on some of the evergreen voices of Hindi films came to an end.  Singer Manna Dey, along with Mohammad Rafi, Mukesh, Talat Mahmood and Kishore Kumar, made an indelible contribution to the unending playlist of melodies through six decades of his singing career. One of those rare voices that will be remembered for both the sombre Tum Bin Jeevan and the peppy Ek Chatur Naar, Manna Dey was sought after for his versatility.

Paying  tribute to the magical voice of Manna Dey on his first death anniversary, Music Lovers Chennai will host a show called ‘Remembering Manna Dey’ on October 12 at the Egmore Museum Theatre.

Popular performer Surojit Guha will render the unforgettable melodies of Manna Dey. He will be accompanied by Nileema Ghokhaley from Mumbai. Guest singer Anand Madhavan will also join the singers. Some of the numbers to look forward to at the concert are Poocho Na Kaise, Yeh Raat Bheegi Bheegi, ZindAgi Kaisi Hai Peheli, along with a few songs from Bengali and Malayalam films.
