CHENNAI: Poets and Tamil scholars on Thursday thanked Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa for the recent measures announced by her for Tamil development. The initiatives include renaming of Halls Road as Thamizh Salai, institution of Amma literary award for woman writers, celebrating
the 125th birthday of poet Bharathidasan as a State function and declaring the day as Tamil Poets Day, among a range of other things.
