Temples get Devotee-friendly Facilities

CHENNAI:  Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Tuesday inaugurated a number of facilities for  devotees like Annadanam halls, waiting halls and lodging rooms, tarpana mandapam, mercy homes besides residential quarters for temple employees, parking lots, bathrooms and toilets in the temples under HR and CE Department at a total cost of `27.09 crore.

These included the Utsavar Kalyana Mandapam and a hall for devotees to relax constructed at a cost of `1.60 crore at Sri Ramanathaswamy temple in Ramanathapuram.

The Chief Minister inaugurated them through  video conferencing facility at the Secretariat.

The Chief Minister inaugurated Annadanam halls for 24 temples _ Srirangam Aranganathaswamy temple, Pachaiyamman temple (Walajabad), Mariyamman temple, Pidariamman temple and Vinayakar temple (Hasthampatti), Agneeswara Swami temple (Kanchanur), Sivasuriya Peruman temple (Suriyanarkoil), Kotteeswaraswamy temple (Kottaiyur), Adhi Kumbeswarar temple (Kumbakonam), Kapartheeswarar temple (Thiruvalanchuzhi), Swetharanyeswarar temple (Thiruvenkadu), Udhvaganathaswamy temple (Thriumanancherry), Naganathaswamy temple (Keezhaperumpallam), Rajagopala Swamy temple (Ananthamangalam), Devi Karumariyamman temple and Vedapuriswarar temple (Tiruverkkadu), Madanagopalaswamy temple (Madurai dt),  Yedaganathaswamy temple (Tiruvedakam), Gopinanathaswamy temple (Reddiyarchatram), Balasubramaniyaswamy temple (Periyakulam), Poovananathaswamy temple (Kovilpatti), Isakkiyamman temple (Muppandal), Nedunkalanathaswamy temple (Thirunedungalam), Kaliyugavaradaraja Perumal temple (Kallankurichi), Pushpavaneshwarar temple (Thirubuvanam) and Kutralanathaswamy temple (Kutralam).

The Chief Minister also inaugurated several basic amenities for devotees.  in a number of temples and lodging facilities.
