Suchitra Kalyan Mohanty

Suchitra Kalyan Mohanty, Assistant Editor (Legal Affairs), at The New Indian Express Group, is a legal affairs journalist reporting from the Supreme Court. Over the years, he has covered some of the most pivotal legal developments in recent Indian history — from the Ayodhya verdict & the execution of the Nirbhaya gang-rape convicts, to the Gyanvapi mosque dispute, Delhi riots trials, farmers’ protest, critical debates on the sedition law, Assam Fake encounters, Karnataka hijab row and many others. Before joining TNIE Group, Suchitra worked in PTI, ANI, Asian Age, Reuters, and the BBC. He has received an Award -- Asia's Speed Demon Award -- during his stint in Reuters in 2018 for breaking the Petcoke story from SC, which the Indian media followed it up. He has earlier participated in many TV debates, including Lok Sabha TV discussions.
