ICF Suicide: 80 Held for Stir Near KMCH

CHENNAI: Around 80 persons, including members of the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) Apprentice Course Completed Students Association, were arrested after they tried to stop the body of suicide victim Hemanth Kumar from being released from the Kilpauk Medical College Hospital morgue after the post-mortem. “The suicide victim who did his apprenticeship as a welder in the 1999-2001 batch was part of the group which was protesting for the past 70 days in front of the ICF General Manager’s office. With the death of Hemanth Kumar, the suicide toll among those seeking jobs in ICF post-apprenticeship and course completion, rose to 27 over a period of time,” claimed P Panneerselvam, a member of the association.
