Kindling the Scientific Spirit in Young Minds

CHENNAI:Agni’s Ignite, a State level science project competition was conducted by Agni’s Centre for Research and Development at the Agni College of Technology recently, The competition was conducted in three levels. Level one of the competition was held on September 1 last year, which saw the participation of 10,293 students from 1,456 schools.

About 2,200 participants from 700 schools presented 850 projects in the competition. Three hundred expert judges from various districts evaluated the projects of the participants. The third level, which was the culmination phase of the competition, was also telecast as a Science reality show on February 1. Janardhanan Menon, director welcomed the gathering. S R Senthil Kumar, principal, felicitated the participants and he advised the budding scientists to sustain this scientific temperament till they achieve excellence. 

Agnishwar Jayaprakash, director-operations, Agni-CRD delivered the presidential address. He pointed out the need to inculcate the spirit of search in young minds to put the country in the map of scientific research.

Bhavani Jayaprakash, chairperson, Agni College of Technology distributed prizes to the winners. R Vijayakumar, chief operating officer, Agni-CRD, was also present at the event.
