CHENNAI: Dish TV launches Zing Digital – a customized Tamil DTH brand which will be offering 49 Tamil channels and services across the state.
"We have launched it in seven other states in their respective regional languages. It's been well received there, we hope the viewers in Tamil Nadu too would enjoy it," said Salil Kapoor, Chief Operating Officer of DishTV India while addressing the media at Accord Metropolitan hotel on Wednesday.
Zing offers four packages, the prices of which start from Rs 99. If the viewer wants only South Indian and Tamil channels they only need to pay Rs 99. And if they want complete Hindi, English and Lifestyle channels the prices come to Rs 350.
After toying with the idea for some time. DishTV finally launched its new brand. Officials say that the key channels viewed in this region was the centre of their strategy and that the core philosophy of the brand was the regional language entertainment unlike Hindi or English which is standard among all others.
"According to our demographic study a large segment of TV viewers from Tier 2-3 cities prefer regional content. Zing will address this need very efficiently and provide maximum available regional content to viewers when compared to other DTH brands," added Salil.
