CHENNAI:Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Friday wished success for the International Youth NGO Summit 2015 ( IYONS) being held from July 24 to 26 here. “I wish the Summit a great success to achieve their defined objectives,” she said in her message and lauded the theme ‘Peace and Prosperity’ chosen for the event.
“Peace and prosperity is very close to my heart and is the fulcrum of administration in my government. It is heartening to note that youth from Indian and international universities are being encouraged to hone in and harness their leadership qualities,” the Chief Minister added.
Jayalalithaa said the summit was a non-profit event and promised to be unique in endeavouring to promote interaction among youth from different countries. “Much as I would have liked to be part of this commendable venture, my work schedules do not facilitate it”, she added.
The Chief Minister also said: “I join you all in paying tributes to Mr Bai Fang Li and Ms Wangari Muta Maathaj, Noble Peace Prize winners for their enormous service to mankind and the welfare of the environment.”
