7 IPS Officers in State Get New Assignments

CHENNAI: The Home Department on Monday transferred seven IPS officers across the State including R Ramakrishnan, who was serving as Deputy Commissioner of police (Kilpauk).

He is now posted as commandant, Tamil Nadu Special Police Battalion, Pochampally, Krishnagiri district. Pravesh Kumar, who was serving as Deputy Commissioner in Coimbatore city police, will replace Ramakrishnan.

S M Mohammed Iqbal, who was serving as Additional Superintendent of Police in the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-corruption, was promoted to Superintendent of Police rank and posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police in the Intelligence section of Chennai city police.

A G Babu, who was serving as Deputy Commissioner of police in Salem city police, has been transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) in Madurai City Police.

S Selvaraj, Deputy Commandant, XII Battalion, Manimuthar, was promoted to Superintendent of Police rank and will replace Babu in the Salem city police.

P Rajan, Additional Superintendent of Police, headquarters at Villupuram, was promoted to Superintendent of Police rank and posted as Deputy Superintendent of Police, Crime and Traffic, in Tirunelveli city police.

J Gunasekaran, Commandant, Tamil Nadu special police battalion, Pochampally, was transferred as Commandant, Regimental Centre, Avadi.
