CHENNAI: The Corporation of Chennai has announced that it will need time until May 24 to finish repair work and maintenance operations at the Villivakkam and Otteri crematorium and burial grounds. The civic body has asked members of the general public to make use of the Velangadu burial ground instead of Villivakkam for the time being. Those reliant on Otteri may use firewood and manure to burn bodies until the fault in the electrical crematorium is rectified.
