MFL Manager in CBI Net for Rs 1 Lakh Bribe

CHENNAI:The chief manager of Madras Fertilisers Limited (MFL) was caught red-handed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) while accepting Rs 1 lakh as bribe.

A CBI spokesperson said that after receiving information, a trap was laid by Anti-Corruption Branch in Chennai. Gnanasambandam, the chief manager of MFL was caught while receiving a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from one K V Reddy of High Tech Air Power Limited.

It is learnt that Reddy offered Rs 1 lakh bribe to Gnanasambandam for issuing Guaranteed Test Run Certificate so as to claim bills towards Reverse Osmosis Membrane supplied by High Tech Air Power Limited.

“Both were taken into CBI custody around 6.45 pm as CBI is conducting raids in Chennai as well as other parts of the country,” CBI said.
