Cloud Computing Services launched

CHENNAI:Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Tuesday launched the cloud computing services of US-based software giant Microsoft through the hyper scale data centre in the city. “We are very happy to hear about the good work you are doing. We welcome you to the State and I assure you of the full support of Government of Tamil Nadu,” the Chief Minister told Microsoft MD (India) Karan Bajwa during the event at the secretariat. Two other data centres are coming up in other parts of the country. The Chief Minister, on August 11, 2014, had announced that cloud computing services and web-hosting services would be provided at a cheaper price to entrepreneurs and students. As a follow up of this, Microsoft (India) had signed a MoU with ELCOT during the recently concluded Global Investors Meet. As per the MoU, Microsoft would provide software development platform to 100 entrepreneurs free of cost besides training on cloud computing.
