CHENNAI: The demolition of the 11-storey building at Moulivakkam, the twin of the ill-fated one that came down crashing over two years ago killing 61 workers, remains a question mark as it could not be carried out despite scheduling it three times today.
It is learnt that technical reasons were cited as the reason for the delay. With a battery of media, police and govt officials gathered on the spot, the latest schedule set for the demolition was 5.45 pm. But with light quickly vanishing, the question remained whether the demolition would in fact be carried out at all. The original deadline was set at 4 pm.
But it was shifted to 5 pm and then to 5.45 pm. But it could not be carried at 5.45 pm too. Official sources suggested that the demolition may be postponed to another date.
