Flight Services From Chennai Airport Hit Due to Delhi Fog

CHENNAI: Flight operations from Chennai airport were hit partially due to dense fog with the poor visibility at the Indira Gandhi airport in Delhi.

Nearly five flights which were to arrive from New Delhi airport have been delayed by couple of hours. The flights started from Chennai Airport at around 9am, said Airport Authority of India director Deepak Shastri.

This has cascading effect on the connecting flights from Chennai as many passengers have to wait for couple of hours more.

All airlines, including private as well as government carrier operations were hit. An Air India spokesman said that the first Air India flight which was land in Chennai around 9.30am will leave from Chennai only at 12am.
