Jaya, AIADMK leaders pay Anna Homage on 47th Death Anniversary

Jaya paid homage to former CM CN Annadurai, referred to as Arignar Anna, on his 47th death anniversary and offered a floral tribute to his portrait.

CHENNAI: The Chief Minister and AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa on Wednesday paid homage to former Chief Minister CN Annadurai, referred to as Arignar Anna, on his 47th death anniversary. She offered flowers at the portrait of Anna.

The AIADMK presidium chairman E Madhusudanan, senior Ministers including O Panneerselvam placed a wreath at Anna memorial, Marina and paid their respects to the late leader. In New Delhi, K Kamaraj and KN Ramachandran, AIADMK MPs paid floral tributes at the statue of Anna in the Parliament complex.

Meanwhile, Sama Bandhi Bhojanam (dining of all communities) took place in 319 temples under the HR and CE Department across the State to mark the day. In Chennai, it was held in 32 temples. The Assembly Speaker P Dhanapal and Finance Minister O Panneerselvam and other Ministers took part in the special prayers and public feast. In the districts, the Collectors and MLAs took part.
