CHENNAI: The Greater Chennai Corporation on Wednesday invited private firms and public welfare organisations to adopt parks for maintenance, besides equipping them with entertainment facilities for kids and sports gadgets.
An official statement here said, organisations adopting parks may display advertisement in parks as per norms prescribed by the Corporation’s Council.
While a period of three years would be granted to agencies for developing and maintaining new parks, existing parks would be given for maintenance for one year to the adopting organisations. The agencies must deposit `100 per square metre based on the park’s location and landscape, the statement added.
The Greater Chennai Corporation has created 503 parks in the city. Application forms, rules and conditions are available in www.chennaicorporation.gov.in.
