SPCA Rescues Injured Horse From Marina

The Madras SPCA was able to give an injured horse left near MLA hostel in Chepauk a new lease of freedom on Saturday. “The Animal Welfare Board informed us about an injured horse that was found near the SPCA hostel at Chepauk a couple of days ago. We sent a team of two SPCA inspectors to the spot in the morning and rescued the horse as the owner was nowhere to be found.

If the owner comes to claim the horse, he will be prosecuted; otherwise, after treatment, we will send the horse to the shelter at Red Hills,” said Thyagarajan, secretary, Madras SPCA. “The injury was severe in the hind limbs. It also had an infected wound on the front leg. We will conduct more tests and decide on further course of treatment,” said Dr Chokkalingam, vet at the madras SPCA.
