Hoax Bomb Call at Chennai Central Control Room

As the call was received by the railway department, the officials were confused whether the bomb was planted at Mylapore MRTS or the police station.

CHENNAI: The Chennai Central railway control room got a call on Thursday morning informing that a bomb was planted in Mylapore station.

As the call was received by the railway department, the officials were confused whether the bomb was planted at Mylapore MRTS or the police station.

Police said the call was received around 8-50am and sniffer dogs and bomb detection and disposal squad were busy for about 90 minutes at both the places to ensure safety. The police said they were trying to trace the caller.

"We knew it was a hoax call because the caller claimed he called from Dubai and when the control room staff said it was the railway station control room, the caller slammed the phone," said police.
