Your favourite spot in the city, and why?

It would be the Besant Avenue Road. That stretch is best especially if one travels by a bike. It is rejuvenating and the best place for morning walks.

A place in Chennai that inspires you to sing about it?

I can’t narrow myself down to one place. But, Chennai itself as a whole is a place I would love to sing about.

A place in namma chennai which you would love to explore?

The Demonte Colony! All the spooky stories have caught my attention and I am definitely going there to explore.

mya.jpgWhich food place would you recommend to a friend who is new to the city. Which item about the place makes it special?

Being a foodie and a vegetarian, I would always recommend Cream Center, Nungambakkam and Anna nagar. I just can’t get enough of their tandoori paneer tikka and the varieties of sizzlers they serve!

Things that are synonymous with the city?

Filter kaapi, Ratna cafe idly sambar, kutcheris and 29C.

Why is Chennai special?

Its’ amazing culture. Chennai is one place where old traditions and modernity coexist in harmony. Cinema, music, dance...you name it and it all started here. Chennai means prosperity!

Where would you take a person who is new here?

Marina Beach, of course! Everything else can wait.

How do you think the city has changed overtime?

Over time, it has seen a lot of activities and has made it a thriving place. I want it to stay the same.

An incident at a public place that made you think ‘This is namma Chennai’.

The way we helped ourselves and others at a time when the whole city shut down during the torrential rain last year.

A place where you would like to unwind?

My motta maadi! I live in Besant Nagar and from my roof top, I can see the beautiful sea, which has calming effect.

The kind of music Chennaiites prefer?

Chennai makkal are very open to all genres. From Ilayaraja music to Anirudh’s songs, everything is music to our ears.

Madras baashai words which you think are awesome!
