Failures are part of the process. Don’t be afraid to take chances as failures will happen,” said Uma Krishnan, chief guest at the 24th College Day celebrated at MOP Vaishnav College for Women on Saturday. Speaking to students, the managing director (finance) at Barclays India addressed themes like ‘Embracing Diversity’. Uma said change was the only constant thing in the world and cited her personal experiences to illustrate the point.
“Always learn and always be a student. Because life changes rapidly. Everyday has a new technology, everyday brings new ways of doing things,” she added. MOP Vaishnav completed its 24th year and the event felicitated its student body and achievers who were awarded by the chief guest, college secretary Manoj Kumar Sonthalia and principal Lalitha Balakrishnan. The principal noted that two of the mobile apps made by the students, one for the visually-challenged and the other for government schemes won the CM’s Award for Excellence in E-governance.
