Vel Tech Univ's Lavaza Fest Commences Today

CHENNAI: The two-day techno-cultural festival of the Vel Tech University, Lavaza -16, will begin Friday. The 22 varied events of the fest are expected to involve over 1,000 participants from 68 institutions. Popular vocalist Grace Karunas will kick off proceedings.

The events at this annual fest will have four categories - Vibrato (music), Step-up (Dance) fine arts and technical. Cultural events like vocal performance, jazz instrumental, mime, graffiti, and shadowgraphy, and technical events like tech quiz, reverse engineering design among others make the list.

The fest will also attract celebrities like music director SS Thaman, RJ Shah from Radio Mirchi FM and playback vocalists Mounima and Noel Sean attending as invitees. Prizes worth Rs 2 lakh will be distributed to the winners by popular film Director VV Vinayak on the closing day, March 19.
