Apple SE to Hit City Stores on April 8

CHENNAI: IPhone SE, the latest gadget from Apple,  will be available at 225 outlets in Chennai from April 8. Redington will offer the four-inch phone, touted as the most powerful of all Apple’s phones, beginning Friday at 3,000 retail outlets across the country, an official release said.

According to reports, it will be the smallest smartphone in Apple’s current lineup and the first smartphone to be released with a screen smaller than 4.7 inches since the iPhone 6 was released in September 2014. The phone was launched at an event in California on March 21. The phone’s camera is carried over from the 6S — it boasts of the same 12-megapixel iSight camera. It comes in variants starting from 16GB and going all the way up to 64GB. At the product launch, Apple CEO Tim Cook had said, “many, many customers have asked for this.” Further, he said, “and I think they’re going to love it.”

The device supports Bluetooth 4.2 and has improved Wi-Fi and LTE connectivity, in addition to new microphones, Apple Pay support and fingerprint ID.
