Reservation Charts Back on Shatabdi

CHENNAI:  Just four days after beginning a trial to drop the practice of pasting reservation charts on coaches of two trains, Southern Railway on Tuesday rolled it back for a Bengaluru-bound train.

In response to the feedback from passengers, Southern Railway decided to go back to pasting charts. Charts will now be pasted on Train No. 12027 Chennai Central-Bangalore Shatabdi Express as earlier, an official statement here said.

As part of the ‘Go Green’ initiative, Southern Railway had chosen two trains departing from Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram to  try out the paperless reservation chart plan. Accordingly, the charts were not pasted near the compartment doors on the Chennai Central-Bengaluru Shatabdi Express and Train No. 12431 Thiruvananthapuram-Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express since March 20 and March 22, respectively. This was part of a  month-long trial.

While the practice has been dropped for the Chennai-Bangalore Shatabdi Express, it is still on for Rajdhani Express.
